Nepali grilled skewered meat marinated in spices
Sekuwa is a popular Nepali appetizer of skewered meat (usually chicken, goat, or buffalo) marinated in a blend of turmeric, cumin, coriander, ginger, garlic, and mustard oil, then grilled over open fire. The smoky, spiced flavor makes it a beloved street food and restaurant starter. Sekuwa is often served with beaten rice (chiura), spicy achar, and fresh salad.
Recipes vary between households and restaurants — use the listings below to find Sekuwa made by Nepali cooks near you.

Use the restaurant listings above to compare locations, menus, opening hours and contact options before travelling. A listing indicates that the business is associated with Sekuwa, but recipes, portion sizes, fillings, spice levels and daily availability can differ. Contact the restaurant directly if you need vegetarian, vegan, halal or allergy-related information, and confirm whether the dish is available for dine-in, takeaway or delivery on the day you plan to order.
Ask how Sekuwa is prepared, what accompaniments are included, and whether advance ordering is recommended for groups. Prices and menus can change, so treat directory details as a discovery guide rather than a guaranteed current menu. You can also browse all Nepali restaurants in Canberra or compare other Nepali dishes.
For catering or a large takeaway order, provide the number of guests and required collection or delivery time. Confirm quantities, packaging, reheating instructions, dietary labels and the final price in writing. This is especially useful when ordering several dishes for a shared meal or community event.
