Project SWAR is in the middle of the most ambitious tour ever mounted by a Nepali band. The Badal Sari World Tour 2026 has already completed a historic Canadian leg — the first five-city national tour of Canada by any Nepali artist — and is now moving through Europe before closing in South Korea.
The Canada run, organised by Gurkha Events, travelled coast to coast: Halifax (22 August), London (28 August), Toronto (29 August — a flagship show at the legendary Danforth Music Hall), Vancouver (3 September) and Calgary (6 September). A Nepali band headlining the Danforth — a room that has hosted generations of international acts — is a milestone for the entire scene.
Europe now, Korea next
The European leg is currently underway, with the band playing Berlin tonight (19 September, Bi Nuu) and shows across Malta, Portugal, Germany, Paris and Denmark on the schedule. The tour then finishes in South Korea during the Chuseok holiday — one of the country's biggest festivals — where thousands of Nepali students and workers are expected to turn out.
It caps a huge twelve months: SWAR's eight-city Badal Sari USA tour ran from December into January, hitting New York, the DMV area, Columbus, San Francisco, Dallas, New Hampshire, Durham and Harrisburg.
An Australian leg is on the schedule
SWAR's official tour page lists an Australian leg covering nine cities — Newcastle, Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne, Tasmania, Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin and Perth. No dates have been formally announced yet, but a run that includes Darwin and Tasmania would be the most geographically comprehensive Nepali tour ever attempted in Australia.
With SWAR crossing three continents, 1974 AD opening their Australian leg in Perth on 23 September, and Sushant KC's Pahuna having just completed its national run, 2026 has become the year Nepali music went properly global. Follow our news section for Australian date announcements.
