Community Code of Conduct

Nepalese Events Australia is committed to fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive community for all Nepali diaspora members and friends in Australia. This Code of Conduct applies to all users of our Platform, including event attendees, organisers, and chat participants.

1. Our Values

Respect: Treat all community members with dignity and respect, regardless of background, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, or sexual orientation.
Inclusivity: Welcome newcomers and help build a community where everyone feels they belong.
Safety: Prioritise the physical and emotional safety of all community members.
Celebration: Celebrate our shared Nepali heritage while embracing the diversity of our Australian home.

2. Expected Behaviour

Be kind and courteous to fellow attendees and event staff.
Use event chat features to connect, share excitement, and ask questions.
Respect the privacy of others — do not share personal information without consent.
Follow event rules and venue guidelines.
Report inappropriate behaviour to organisers or platform staff.

3. Prohibited Behaviour

The following will not be tolerated and may result in immediate account suspension:

Harassment: Unwanted attention, stalking, or persistent unwanted contact.
Hate speech: Discriminatory or derogatory language based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
Threats: Any threat of violence or harm to another person.
Spam: Repeated unsolicited messages, advertising, or promotional content in chats.
Impersonation: Pretending to be another person or organisation.
Illegal content: Sharing content that promotes or depicts illegal activities.
Sexual harassment: Unwelcome sexual advances, comments, or imagery.

4. Event Chat Guidelines

Keep conversations relevant to the event.
Do not share personal contact details (phone, address) in public chat.
Be mindful that chat messages are visible to all attendees.
Use the report function to flag inappropriate messages to admins.
Rate limit: One message per 10 seconds to prevent spam.

5. Reporting Violations

If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct:

Report it to the event organiser first.
For platform-level issues, email infonepaleseevents@gmail.com with details and screenshots.
For immediate safety concerns at an event, contact venue security or call 000.

All reports are treated confidentially and investigated promptly.

6. Consequences

Warning: First minor violations may result in a warning.
Chat suspension: Repeat violations may result in temporary chat suspension.
Account suspension: Serious or repeated violations will result in permanent account suspension.
Legal action: Illegal activities will be reported to authorities.

7. Acknowledgement

By using our Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. You also agree that violations may result in the consequences outlined above without refund.
