Nikhil Upreti is back behind the camera — and in front of it. Acharya, his second directorial venture after Bhairav, has released its official trailer through OSR Digital ahead of a 25 September 2026 (Ashoj 9, 2083) Nepal release, coinciding with Indra Jatra.
Upreti plays Acharya, an ex-Army man who takes a contract to rescue a young woman stranded in Mumbai and bring her safely back to Nepal — a mission that turns into a dangerous, secret-filled journey. The film stars Purnika Sijapati (in her acting debut), Sajeena Shrestha, Deep Raj Rana, Promod Agrahari, Raghu Babu and Raghu Karumanchi, with music by Yug Bhusal.
For Nepali audiences in Australia: festival-season releases like this typically screen at Event Cinemas, Hoyts, Village and Reading across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra. Australian session times and ticket links will be published on the Acharya movie page as soon as the distributor confirms them.
