Hong Kong's Nepali community — descended from Gurkha service and grown into a settled, multigenerational population — sends Hong Kong dollars home through a compact corridor.
Your options
Wise and WorldRemit cover digital sends to Nepali banks and wallets. Specialist exchange shops in the areas where the community lives — Chungking Mansions-adjacent remittance counters handle HKD→NPR with Nepal-side payout networks. eSewa Money Transfer and IME serve wallet and cash-pickup delivery.
What to compare
The HKD pegs to the US dollar, so the corridor s USD/NPR closely — check the live HKD to NPR rate first. The community's pattern is regular monthly support more than festival lump sums — pick the provider whose fees stay flat across the year rather than chasing promotional rates.
