Serbia's growing Nepali community celebrates Tihar in early November. Tihar 2026 in Serbia runs Saturday 7 November to Wednesday 11 November, with Laxmi Puja on Sunday 8 November and Bhai Tika on Wednesday 11 November.
Serbia Tihar 2026 dates
• Kag Tihar: Saturday, 7 November
• Kukur Tihar & Laxmi Puja: Sunday, 8 November — puja at local sunset
• Gai Tihar: Monday, 9 November
• Govardhan Puja / Mha Puja: Tuesday, 10 November
• Bhai Tika: Wednesday, 11 November (Kartik 25, 2083)
Serbia runs 4 hours 45 minutes behind Nepal (CET), so a late-morning sahit in Kathmandu lands around 6:45 AM in Belgrade — the worldwide Bhai Tika sahit er carries the official 2083 time with local conversions, and Nepal–Belgrade time shows the live offset.
The community
Serbia's Nepali population is one of Southeast Europe's emerging communities, concentrated in Belgrade with smaller groups in other cities. Community organisation is young and runs through informal groups and social channels; the Tihar pattern for small diasporas holds here — a shared programme on the nearest weekend (7–8 November) with Deusi Bhailo and dinner, and families keeping Bhai Tika on the Wednesday.
For dakshina home, the EUR–NPR rate is on the exchange page. Updates land on the Serbia desk and /world/rs.
