NAWA Unveils Artists for Haritalika Teej Festival 2026 in Perth

Perth's Nepali community now has a first look at the artists who will take the stage for this year's Haritalika Teej Festival, with the Nepali Association of Western Australia (NAWA) unveiling a three-artist lineup for its 2026 celebration.

The festival will be held on Saturday, 12 September 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the City Room, Perth Cultural Centre, Western Australian Museum. The event has been announced as a free-entry celebration, giving families and members of the wider community an opportunity to come together for an evening of Nepali music, culture and Teej festivities.

The newly announced lineup features Pratap Das, Anjali Adhikari and Radhika Hamal. Their appearance is expected to be one of the main attractions of this year's celebration, with the three performers bringing live music and entertainment to a festival that is centred around one of the most widely celebrated occasions in the Nepali community.

For many Nepali families in Perth, Teej is about much more than a single evening of entertainment. It is a chance to dress in traditional clothing, meet friends and relatives, sing, dance and reconnect with traditions while living away from Nepal. Community Teej events across Australia have become an important part of maintaining that connection, bringing together different generations through music, food, cultural performances and social gatherings.

NAWA has a long history of organising major cultural and community programs in Western Australia. Its previous annual activities have included Haritalika Teej celebrations, Dashain programs, Holi and Momo festivals and Nepali New Year events. The organisation's annual report notes that its previous joint Haritalika Teej Festival attracted more than 600 attendees, highlighting the strong interest in Teej celebrations within Perth's Nepali community.

The announcement of this year's artists comes as Perth prepares for a busy period of Nepali cultural events. NAWA is also among the organisations supporting Nepal Festival Perth 2026, which is scheduled for October and will bring Nepali food, music, dance and cultural displays to Wellington Square.

With Pratap Das, Anjali Adhikari and Radhika Hamal now confirmed for the Teej Festival, the September celebration is expected to attract a strong crowd. The event is currently advertised as free, so attendees can enjoy the evening without a ticket purchase.
