The year's biggest Nepali film went Gulf-wide before anywhere else in the diaspora. Kabaddi 5: After the Final Match opened Thursday, October 22, 2026 across four Gulf countries — 24 cinema screens in total, one day ahead of its Nepal release and nearly a week before Australia and New Zealand.
Where it's playing
UAE — 14 screens, the largest Gulf rollout: VOX Cinemas, Star Cinemas, Cinepolis, Cine Royal, Sephia and Cinemax locations across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Fujairah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah. VOX City Centre Shindagha and City Centre Sharjah — the two halls closest to the community's Deira and Sharjah corridors — are carrying multiple daily shows in standard format, Nepali dialogue with Arabic and English subtitles.
Qatar — 2 screens: Doha's Asian Town and Al Khor cinemas.
Oman — 5 screens: Salalah, Sohar and Muscat.
Bahrain — 3 screens: Saar, Seef and Manama.
The film
Directed by Ram Babu Gurung and presented by Baasuri Films, the fifth Kabaddi instalment stars Dayahang Rai returning as Kaji alongside Bipin Karki, Bijay Baral, Buddhi Tamang, Miruna Magar, Rishma Gurung and Kamalmani Nepal — with Kaji's marriage at the centre of the new story. The franchise is Nepal's most successful film series, and the 155-minute finale lands in the middle of the festival season, when the Gulf's Nepali workforce crowds cinema weekends.
A Gulf-first rollout
Releasing in the Gulf before Nepal itself is a distributor's bet on the region's concentration — the UAE alone holds one of the world's largest overseas Nepali populations, and multiplex chains now treat Nepali releases as standard international inventory (see our UAE Nepali-cinema guide for how the VOX/Novo/Star circuit works). For the rest of the world — US, Australia, New Zealand and beyond — our country-by-country release guide s every confirmed date.
Booking is through the chains' own apps and box offices; showtimes at VOX, Star and Cinepolis update daily. Gulf-desk updates land on /news/world/uae and /world/ae.
