Drop-Off vs Full-Service Nepali Catering: Which Suits Your Event

The biggest cost and logistics decision in catering is not the menu — it is the service style. Understanding the two main options helps you match the service to the event and budget. Providers in the Nepali catering directory offer one or both.

Drop-off catering

The caterer cooks, packs and delivers; you serve. Best for home parties, small office lunches and gatherings under roughly 50 guests. Confirm: do dishes arrive hot or cold? Are serving utensils included? How long can food hold safely before eating? Disposable vs returnable trays — and who collects equipment afterwards?

Full-service catering

The caterer brings staff, chafing dishes, setup, service and often cleanup. Best for weddings, large ceremonies and any event where the hosts should be guests rather than servers. Confirm: staff-to-guest ratio, buffet line layout, serving duration included, and what happens to leftovers.

The middle option

Some caterers offer drop-off plus setup — food arranged and ready, no serving staff. A good compromise for medium events where presentation matters but staffing does not.

How to decide

• Under ~50 guests at home → drop-off usually suffices
• 50–150 guests or a formal event → consider setup or partial staffing
• 150+, weddings, ritual ceremonies → full service is worth it
• Venue with no kitchen → you need equipment included regardless
