Gauthali Nepali Movie Now Showing Across Australia from 6 August 2026
For Nepali movie lovers living in Australia, a new film is now making its way onto cinema screens across the country. Gauthali, the latest Nepali social drama directed by Dr. Kapil Rijal, is now showing in major Australian cities from 6 August 2026, giving audiences an opportunity to watch a Nepali-language film on the big screen with English subtitles.
The film tells an emotional story centred around a woman whose life is shaped by child marriage, limited access to education and deeply rooted social traditions. Rather than simply presenting hardship, Gauthali follows her struggle to rebuild her life through education and challenge the circumstances that once held her back. The story touches on women's rights, education, family, resilience and the difficult social realities that continue to affect communities. The film has been described as a social and family drama, with Arun Chhetri, Simran Khadka, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Prakash Ghimire and Lunibha Tuladhar among the cast.
Gauthali was released theatrically in Nepal on 17 July 2026 and is now reaching Nepali audiences overseas. The Australian release is being distributed by Namaste Entertainment, with screenings listed across several major cities. The Australian sessions include cinemas in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Hobart and Perth, making the film accessible to Nepali communities in different parts of the country.
For people searching online for a Nepali movie in Australia, Nepali movie near me, Nepali movies near me, or Gauthali movie Australia, the current Australian screenings provide an opportunity to catch the film without travelling overseas. Session times vary by cinema and day, so audiences are encouraged to check their local cinema listing before travelling.

About Gauthali
At the centre of Gauthali is a story about the power of education and the courage to change one's circumstances. The film explores how education can become a pathway towards independence while also looking at gender inequality and traditions that can limit opportunities for women.
The film is directed by Dr. Kapil Rijal, with Arun Chhetri and Simran Khadka in the lead roles, alongside veteran Nepali performers including Madan Krishna Shrestha and Prakash Ghimire.
For Nepali audiences in Australia, the appeal of Gauthali goes beyond simply watching another new Nepali release. It is an opportunity for families, friends and the wider Nepali community to experience a Nepali story together in Australian cinemas, while introducing Australian audiences to a contemporary Nepali film dealing with themes that are both culturally specific and widely relatable.
With screenings now available across Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Hobart and Darwin, Gauthali is one of the Nepali films currently reaching a broad Australian audience.
