About Rachana Rimal
Rachana Rimal is one of Nepal's biggest folk and Teej singers, from Jhapa in eastern Nepal. Rooted in lok dohori and the Teej song tradition, she broke through to a national audience with the viral Teej anthem "Unko Photo", and has since become the defining voice of the modern Teej season — her songs dominate festival playlists across Nepal and the diaspora every year.Music & StyleRachana's catalogue mixes Teej geet, folk pop and dohori — songs built on Madal rhythms, playful lyrics about love and married life, and the call-and-response energy of traditional village singing. "Unko Photo" remains one of the most-streamed Teej songs ever released, and each Teej season she returns with new tracks that soundtrack celebrations for millions of Nepali women.Rachana Rimal in AustraliaRachana has performed for Australia's Nepali community during Teej season, headlining women-centric Teej celebrations and community festivals in cities including Darwin, Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide.
