Nepali cinema lovers in Australia have a new film to look forward to this spring!
“Ka Ka Ki Ki” (क, का, कि, की), the upcoming Nepali feature from the team behind the popular comedy show Comedy Darbar, is set for its Australian theatrical release on 4 September 2026.
The film is directed by Vicky (Bikki) Agrawal and Shraddha Prasai and is being produced under Maya Entertainment Studio. The screenplay is written by Vicky Agrawal, with the story credited to Vicky Agrawal, Bikash Aryal and Saroj Bhandari.
🎥 What is Ka Ka Ki Ki about?
While the complete storyline has not yet been publicly revealed, the film appears to combine comedy, family relationships and an emotional human story.
One of the biggest attractions is the return of veteran actress Tripti Nadkar, who is making her comeback to Nepali cinema after around 18 years away from the Nepali screen. The filmmakers specifically developed the project with Tripti in mind and approached her with a script written for her.
The film brings together an interesting cast that includes Tripti Nadkar, Gauri Malla, Rekha Thapa and Mahesh Tripathi, with members of the Comedy Darbar team also involved.
Tripti's comeback is particularly significant for Nepali audiences. She became widely known through films including Kusume Rumal, Samjhana, Lahure, Saino and Dewar Babu, before stepping away from Nepali cinema for many years.
