Bibaha Lagan 2083 BS: Auspicious Nepali Wedding Dates for Australia

In Nepali Hindu tradition a wedding is fixed on a lagan — an auspicious date-time determined from the couple's birth details and the published panchang sahit. Families in Australia plan around the same sahit dates as families in Nepal, which is why Nepali wedding venues and pandits book out in waves around the same handful of months.

Falgun is traditionally the busiest wedding month — 2083's twelve listed dates will concentrate most of the season into late February and March. Mangsir and Magh are the other active windows. Jestha, Bhadra, Ashwin, Kartik and Chaitra list no marriage lagan in 2083 — these are the customary "closed" months when weddings are not performed.

Sahit is a starting point, not the final word

Published sahit lists generally auspicious days. A family's specific lagan is usually refined by a pandit using the bride and groom's cheena (birth charts) — two couples can legitimately end up with different recommended dates within the same month. Treat the published list as the candidate window, then confirm with your pandit before paying venue deposits.

• Time zone detail. A lagan computed for Kathmandu time may be translated differently for an Australian ceremony — ask your pandit which reference time they use.
• Registry legals. The religious ceremony and the legal marriage registration are separate in Australia — your celebrant or registry paperwork uses the AD date of the day.
